Following recent changes to departmental responsibilities, the functions of the former Department of Treaty, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, Communities and the Arts are transitioning to new departments. Work is underway to update departments’ websites.

Pride in our Communities Action Plan 2024-26

Pride in our Communities is Queensland's first Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Intersex, Asexual plus (LGBTQIA+) Strategy and marks the beginning of a new journey towards our vision that LGBTQIA+ communities are connected, celebrated, safe and supported to live authentically and thrive.

Our path forward will be charted through action plans designed to address emerging issues, drive systemic change and enable strengthened outcomes for LGBTQIA+ communities.

This first Pride in our Communities Action Plan 2024-26 (PDF, 3.4 MB) (DOCX, 1.6 MB) is a foundational plan to set us on the journey towards our vision.

Pride in our Communities focusses on three key areas of impact: Inclusive culture, stronger communities and connections and responsive, inclusive and accessible services.

Ongoing engagement and consultation with LGBTQIA+ communities and the LGBTQIA+ sector to listen to emerging community needs will occur throughout the implementation of actions.

Cultural acknowledgement

We pay our respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ancestors of this land, their spirits and their legacy. The foundations laid by these ancestors—our First Nations peoples—give strength, inspiration and courage to current and future generations towards creating a better Queensland.

Our human rights commitment

We will respect, protect and promote human rights within our decision-making and actions.
